Investment and Incentives

Up to $12,000 in Rent Reimbursement 

• We will pay 50%, up to $1,000 a month, of your rent for the first 12 months. 

Furniture and Fixtures for Free! 

• Kumon will select and deliver the furniture and fixtures needed to open your Center—this is a value of $7,170!

Carpet, Window Coverings and Paint 

• We reimburse up to $5,500 of the build-out of the Center to ensure correct carpet, paint, and window treatments.

Get Your Primary Signage For Free

• We’ll purchase your main exterior sign for you, this is valued at between $4,700 and $7,000!

New Center Marketing - $2,000 for Free!  

• We’ll split the cost of $4,000 of local marketing in your first three months with you. You won’t pay anything towards this program until your 5th and 6th months when you’ll be billed $1,000 in each month. 

Get Your Call Center Equipment for Free  

• We reimburse you for the cost of the phone system that ties you to the Call Center—saving you up to $600 and countless hours!

• Training Agreement Deposit Fee² - $500 

• FBI fingerprint check - $18–$60

• Initial Franchise Fee - $1,000 

At $64,458 to $139,890, our total investment range is now even lower—and our Franchise Fee is only $2,000!

Kumon-Specific Expenses

• Architect design - $0–$9,500

• Leasehold Improvements - $29,500–$60,000

• Security Deposit, if Required - $0–$15,000

• Business License, Name Registration - $100–$200

• Professional Fees - $1,000–$3,000

General Business Expenses³

• Monthly Rent - $2,500–$5,000

• Payroll for Assistants, generally around $6,300–$7,560 per quarter

• Marketing - $2,400 recommended per year

• Kumon Lead Management Telephone System - $40, approximately, per month

• Liability Insurance - $475, semi-annually⁴

It is expected that you have $13,500–$18,000 in additional funds for operating expenses during your first three months.

2 The Training Agreement Deposit Fee will be applied toward the initial Franchise Fee if you successfully complete the Instructor Development Program and sign a Franchise Agreement. There is no cost for training beyond the training kit, but should. you need to travel to training, expect to budget between $5,150 - $8,880 for travel-related expenses.
